We’re not looking to tell you how to run your business. We know how hard it is to grow a services company and want to help you scale through a strategic add-on acquisition strategy.

Investment Criteria:

  • Services

    We are focused on companies that operate in the heavier end of reconstruction services, including building envelope repair & retrofitting, structural concrete repair, waterproofing, and specialty wall coatings. If there is an engineered element to the work, we’re interested.

  • Location

    Companies based in the United States in the southeast or along the Gulf Coast. Typically focused on businesses with a coastal presence.

  • Financial Profile

    Annual EBITDA of between $1m and $5m.

Our Team

  • Ken Smith - Chairman

    Ken is the retired CEO of HEPACO, a Charlotte-based and private equity-owned environmental services and emergency response company with offices and service centers across the eastern US. Prior to HEPACO, he served as a senior executive with Fluor Corporation, one of the world’s largest engineering and construction companies with projects and offices across the globe.

    He has deep experience and expertise in growing services-based companies through organic growth and strategic add-on acquisitions. He understands how to use private equity capital to take companies through their next phase of growth.

  • Andrew Sullivan - VP of M&A

    Andrew is Managing Partner of Normandy Advisors, an acquisition search firm which he has owned since 2015 and operated since 2011. He has over a decade’s worth of experience in partnering with companies and private equity investors to find middle market businesses for investment or acquisition.

    He is an M&A expert and has led-and-closed over 30 private equity-backed buyside transactions over the last 10 years.

  • Justin Frank - Chief of Staff

    Justin is President of Rate of Return, an executive recruiting firm which he launched in 2018. He has nearly a decade of experience recruiting executives to serve as CEO or Board Chair for private equity-backed companies.

    Earlier in his career, he worked at RFE Investment Partners, a lower middle market private equity firm where he executed multiple investments in companies with less than $10m of EBITDA.
